Specific herbs and flowers were chosen to recreate the fragrance of animal musk. The herbs and flowers were collected during the monsoon season in the green forests of Southern India.

No Halmaddi resin was used, but jaggery was used as a binding agent, and specific herbs and flowers were chosen to recreate the fragrance of animal musk. The recipe is very similar to Tibetan-style incense, where wood powders and herbs play a major role.
