FORGOTTEN INCENSE RECIPES. REVIVED.
Once sold, it’s gone.
In the villages of South India, many traditional incense recipes are slowly disappearing. Our mission is to keep these old family recipes alive. We work directly with local artisans to produce these nearly lost recipes in small batches — exactly as they were made generations ago.
These are not modern commercial formulas. These are authentic, time-honored recipes that used to be made by families for their temples and homes — long before big factories took over. Each recipe carries decades of tradition.
These recipes cannot be rushed. They require time, specific wild ingredients, and the experienced hands of people who have been making incense their entire lives. This is why we only produce them in small batches. When a batch is finished, it’s truly gone.
We deliberately chose the opposite path from factory-made incense. No synthetic perfumes. No shortcuts. Just pure, natural incense made the traditional way.
What the experts say about us
The Olfactory Rescue Service, or ORS as many know it, is the oldest and most respected incense review website, covering quality incense from all over the world:
“The Nag Champa From Heaven is definitely a nag champa in that the general bouquet is closer to the original Satya blue box, the Gold Nagchampa etc. But considering that it’s a stick probably created by the same manufacturer as many of Monsoon’s more perfumed line, it’s not a surprise to have a Nag Champa scent that’s a little more stylized – you’ll recognize the scent and general style, but it differs in little ways during the burn. It’s also closer to home base than the more experimental Bhagwan Lady Champa is. However, it leans a bit more to the lemon-fruity side which is still quite a bit different than most nag champa variants. It’s pretty normative in that sort of balsamic-halmaddi-vanilla sort of axis scent wise but because it feels like perfume the scent feels a bit more liquid based than it usually does. And as a liquid it also feels a bit like a cocktail, a little in the pina colada direction possibly. So maybe if it’s not from heaven it’s from Key West. There’s a little banana in this too, so this idea of champa as tropical drink starts to feel like it has wings the more you pay attention to it. It’s pretty cool overall, after all if you’re never going to be able to go back to the Blue Box scent then neat variations keep things interesting, and this one is unlike any other I can think of.”

We source our incense from small family businesses in South India who make their sticks according to generations old conservative recipes.
And you won’t find these companies on the map – they are located in villages and remote locations.
Our incense smells a bit raw and unrefined sometimes – this is because our suppliers are using their local wood powders, resins and oils, as well as essential oils made nearby. Very often their ingredients come from a local forest or a jungle.
Our natural incense sticks, hand-rolled in South Indian states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, places where incense is traditionally made with a raw halmaddi resin.
Our halmaddi is sourced from the sustainable forests in Puttur area of Karnataka. It is a pure raw halmaddi, available only to selected incense makers in India.
